THE VAX VS...A CHICKEN?

Dr. Steven Bacall

2/21/23

So here’s one you probably won’t read in the New York Times but it seems several recent studies show that a certain protein in eggs has the ability to block the evil coronavirus from entering cells. Well that’s just crazy talk. The two studies referenced here are both published on the website of the National Institutes of Health so I’m pretty sure these can’t be played off as conspiracy nonsense. Or maybe they can, what the hell do I know?

The first study published in November of 2022 finds (my bold)::

“An alternative mitigation strategy may involve the use of specific immunoglobulin (Ig)-Y derived from chicken eggs…Our results demonstrated that S1,RBD,N-IgY was able to inhibit RBD-ACE2 binding interaction in vitro, suggesting its potential use in blocking virus entry. Our study also demonstrated proof-of-concept that laying hens were able to produce this specific IgY, which could block the viral binding and large production of this specific IgY is feasible.”

The second study published in January of 2021 finds:

“This study evaluated the potential efficacy of Egg Yolk Antibodies (IgY) as a neutralizing agent against the SARS-CoV-2. Our results show that the anti-Spike-S1 IgYs showed significant neutralizing potency against SARS-CoV-2 pseudovirus, various spike protein mutants, and even SARS-CoV in vitro. It might be a feasible tool for the prevention and control of ongoing COVID-19…In one study…the IgY antibodies were able to neutralize the SARS coronavirus both in vitro and in vivo.”

Well that’s all fascinating and stuff but what does it mean for us? Should you be eating more eggs? You should be doing that anyway. Eggs are high in cysteine which is used by the body to make something called glutathione which is “...essential for the immune system's proper functioning and is vital in building and repairing tissue.” Eggs are a superfood. But could just eating eggs provide you with protection from the ‘rona? Hard to say, but possible. They’ll make you healthier, I can tell you that. And anybody who says different is an idiot or a liar.

So according to these studies we could use laying hens…wait can I say that? Maybe “egg-depositing individuals”...yes, that’s more like it, to produce an immunoglobulin that has the ability to render the novel coronavirus inert. Imagine that. But wait, what would Pfizer do then?

Hey, have you noticed something has happened with eggs recently. I’m not sure, but I’ve heard tell they are in short supply and have gotten rather expensive. Hey, did you also here:

“The U.S. is enduring an unprecedented poultry health disaster, with a highly contagious bird flu virus triggering the deaths of some 52.7 million animals..It's the worst toll on the poultry industry since 2014-2015, when more than 50 million birds died. That earlier outbreak also started in the winter — but while that ordeal was over by the following June, the current outbreak lasted through the summer and has surged anew…Some birds have died from the disease itself, but the vast majority are being culled through flock "depopulation," to try to stop the virus from spreading. That includes millions of chickens and turkeys in barns and backyards that had been raised to provide eggs or meat…’I'm hopeful that this is not the new normal for us,’ Richard Webby, director of the World Health Organization's Collaborating Center for Studies on the the Ecology of Influenza in Animals, tells NPR.”

That report was from early December 2022. Now the number of birds killed is right around 60 million. And oh yeah, the CDC counts only about 6,200 birds that actually had the bird flu. 6,000 infected, 60,000,0000 killed. How about “Animal rights activists are up in arms over reports that a chicken farm in Iowa killed more than five million birds, after detecting a case of avian influenza.” Sounds about right. Sort of like 6.5 million dead but 5.5 billion vaccinated. And what exactly does Director Webby mean “the new normal”? Will chickens now need to show proof of vaccination to get into the henhouse? More crazy talk.

Anyway, I wonder if Anthony Fauci was moving full steam ahead with investigating whether we could employ chickens to produce a protein that could block infection. You know, kind of like the vaccine, except it could actually do it. Wait, what’s that? If we had another substance, or say a drug (or two) or maybe even the sun, that’s been around for decades (or eons) and is absolutely known to be safe that could battle the ‘vid they wouldn’t be able to employ the Emergency Use Authorization for the vaccine that doesn’t work and is killing people but makes BILLIONS for the drug companies? Got it, thanks.

So instead we’ll just kill all the chickens? Yup, got that too. Thanks. Conspiracy theories are fun. Except the "Largest global bird flu outbreak ‘in history’ shows no sign of slowing", there really is a protein in chicken eggs that can apparently actually help prevent COVID and the culling of tens of millions of chickens is really happening. So, there’s that.

What are the chances that at the same exact time we're experiencing a "pandemic" of a virus that after three years has killed (allegedly) around nine ten-thousandths of one percent of the world's population (that's 0.0009%) and we are selling billions of dollars worth of a vaccine that doesn't work and kills people in the name of saving people from a zero chance of dying from this pandemic, we are also aware of a protein in chicken eggs that could actually protect against this infection but nobody is talking about it and at the very same exact time we are experiencing the worst bird flu outbreak "in history" and we're killing tens of millions of chickens to "protect" them...from dying, and eggs have gotten crazy expensive? I can't calculate those odds but I'm personally not a big fan of such "coincidences".

Beyond the conspiracy theories, really why have we not heard more about this egg thing? Asking for a friend...
